A Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a document that outlines high-risk construction work activities, the hazards associated with those activities, and the control measures that will be implemented to eliminate or minimize the risks. It's a legal requirement for high-risk construction work and serves as a practical guide for workers on how to perform tasks safely.

Safety training frequency depends on the type of training and regulatory requirements. General safety inductions should be provided to all new workers and contractors before they start work. Specific training (e.g., working at heights, confined spaces) should be provided before workers undertake such tasks and refreshed at least every 2 years, or more frequently if required by legislation or if work procedures change significantly.

A construction site first aid kit should include: various sizes of sterile adhesive dressings, sterile eye pads, triangular bandages, safety pins, disposable gloves, sterile wound dressings, sterile saline solution, scissors, tweezers, thermal blankets, and first aid instructions. The contents should be appropriate for the number of workers and specific hazards on site, and should be checked regularly and restocked as needed.
